Join the Funding Opportunities Hackathon
Permaculture projects everywhere are doing real work on tight budgets and the funding landscape is messy, time consuming, and difficult to navigate. The Funding Circle is changing that by building what is already the largest public free to access database of funding opportunities for permaculture and aligned projects worldwide.
On Friday, April 24th, 10:00–18:00 CET, we are hosting a public, drop in Funding Opportunities Hackathon to strengthen it fast, together.
Join us for a co-working day with clear tasks, live support, and training included. You can join for a couple of hours or stay all day, learn new skills and get to know others working in this sector. No experience is needed, just bring yourself.
What you will do (choose one or more):
• Research new funding opportunities that are not yet listed • Check and update existing entries for accuracy • Submit new opportunities directly into the database
• Practical training on how to assess funding opportunities from a permaculture perspective • A simple workflow and a shared activity log so your time translates into real improvements • A good time with great people
A better database means less duplicated effort, fewer missed deadlines, and more projects finding ethical support without burning out. If we want a thriving permaculture movement, we need infrastructure that makes resourcing easier and more equitable. With your help, we can make it even stronger.

Emergent Festival
Funding Applications to open in April
The CoLab GROW Emergent Festival is recruiting for Emergent Festival Coordinators and will be opening for applications in April.
The GROW Emergent Festival is an opportunity for active members of the International Permaculture CoLab to test out and bring to light micro projects up to 1000 GBP, enhancements to existing activities, or explorations of new ideas over a short period of time – 6 months + supporting events.
It is also an opportunity to bring new people into the CoLab, as long as they are supported and held by current active members with the intention to remain active in this space.
The objectives are to make visible what is emergent in the community within the agreed International Permaculture CoLab Vision Mission and Aims and to allow active members of the CoLab to support emergent projects within and on the edge of the CoLab.
For full details please read this policy. To apply you must be an active CoLab Member, have completed your onboarding and intend to remain an active CoLab member.

Digital Independence Day
Our digital lives are deeply dependent on a small number of proprietary platforms.
This centralisation limits autonomy, locks communities into closed ecosystems, and puts essential infrastructure in the hands of actors whose interests don’t always align with the common good & permaculture ethics.
The European Permaculture Network (EuPN) together with The Digital Circle, is joining Digital Independence Day (Di.Day) — a monthly, practical invitation to take one small step away from Big Tech.
Digital Independence Day takes place every first Sunday of the month. Each session focuses on switching from one proprietary service to a free / libre / open-source alternative, with shared learning, guidance, and space for questions.
On Sunday, the 5th of April, we will be looking at moving from Gmail to independent email services.
