El objetivo de este proyecto es crear un mapa en línea de asociaciones y redes estratégicas de permacultura en todo el mundo.
We want the map to be accessible, and eventually able to be updated and maintained by the community.  We are currently developing the map. In future phases of work, we hope to include local groups and projects on the map.

¿En qué se diferenciará este mapa de otros mapas de permacultura que existen en la actualidad?

Estratégico y escalable.  Inicialmente, nuestro mapa será principalmente una herramienta estratégica para la creación de redes. Hemos dedicado un esfuerzo considerable a conocer las organizaciones y redes de permacultura existentes en todo el mundo. Pensando desde los patrones hasta los detalles, trazaremos primero un mapa de las organizaciones estratégicas, y pretendemos añadir grupos locales (y eventualmente proyectos) a medida que el mapa evolucione y la gente (usuarios) responda y comparta. comentarios en él. 

Información actualizada.  Our data will be checked and confirmed annually, so will always be up-to-date.  Good processes for who/when/how the map will be updated are essential for providing a positive experience for diverse users at any time. This is one of our key design aims.

 ‘Se federará la ’propiedad" de la base de datos de mapas – meaning regional datasets can be stewarded by regional representatives.  This could be at continental level but potentially national too.  A distributed network is more resilient than a centralised one.  In the meantime, the International CoLab will steward on behalf of regions until they are ready.   

Accesibilidad – we aim to make our map visibles y accesibles en cualquier dispositivo y navegador, y utilizable incluso con un ancho de banda de Internet limitado.

Los datos serán de código abierto y se distribuirán – meaning the data will be available to other mappers. This means mapped entities could be featured on other relevant 3rd party  maps in future, without needing to collect data again. This will be via the pioneering Murmuraciones protocol.  Murmurations is a protocol designed for data interoperability, meaning data can be easily mixed and matched for use cases beyond simple mapping. 

Los conjuntos de datos estarán a disposición de las organizaciones estratégicas de permacultura y podrán ser utilizados por ellas..  We will also be exploring with the team at Murmurations the possibility to integrate with organisations’ CRM / contact databases.

Funcionalidad. The map design is considering a comprehensive list of actors and potential users. Their main needs have been identified, and while the initial version might not include an extensive range of functions, there is a commitment to continue developing the map and add more functions over time. We’re hoping the map will help users to identify and contact potential partners to develop future projects.  Our data profiles will be ‘rich’ both in terms of searchability, and also potentially integrate with other rich content elsewhere in e.g.  stories, impact, funding collaborations.

¿Cómo repercutirá?

Este proyecto permitirá una mayor autoorganización en toda la red y un mejor ’autoconocimiento’, lo que se traducirá en mejores propuestas de financiación, actos y una organización eficaz. También facilitará el crecimiento del movimiento al permitir que las personas interesadas se conecten con sus redes, grupos y proyectos locales.

• People in the permaculture movement all around the world
• Nuevos participantes (personas que se inician en la permacultura) que desean conectarse con proyectos, grupos y organizaciones cercanos a ellos.
• Organizaciones, redes y grupos de permacultura que deseen conectarse y colaborar, y atraer a nuevos participantes.
