Description

This download includes 4 documents showing the continued work on the iCAAFS project in 2025.

The first download is a slide deck and recorded information session, “iCAAFS CoLab 2026–2027 Continued Access Information Session”. It introduces the International Collaboration for the Accreditation of Ancient and Future Skills (iCAAFS). It explains open badges and modular education, sets out the new access model for CoLab members through 2027 (including founding member status, free badges and verifier roles), and summarises the services and core team behind the initiative, with a link to the full Zoom recording for anyone who could not attend live.

The second download is an onboarding slide deck, “iCAAFS Onboarding 2025”. It introduces the International Collaboration for the Accreditation of Ancient and Future Skills (iCAAFS) as a decentralised collective using open badges and modular education to help regenerative organisations define their own accreditation. It walks participants through the need for iCAAFS, what open badges are, what kinds of credentials they can create (education, product certification, monitoring and evaluation, membership), the services offered by the team, and what is expected of case study partners, with space for check-in/check-out and next actions.

The third download is a slide deck and recorded session, “Participatory Design Session: Modular Permaculture Education,” hosted by iCAAFS and supported by the Permaculture CoLab’s Next Steps project. It introduces iCAAFS, open badges, milestone badges and the decentralised modular PDC concept, and then guides participants through a structured participatory process: a guided visualisation, expansion and contraction rounds, mapping core/secondary/elective content, and exploring equivalencies and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). The slides include harvested notes from live sticky-note work, a clear agenda, closing prompts, contact details, and a link to the full Zoom recording.

The fourth download is a written governance and access agreement, “CoLab Access to iCAAFS Badge Services: Governance Agreement 2026–2027.” It outlines how Permaculture CoLab members can continue to access iCAAFS open badge services after the end of the Next Steps funding period. It explains the development phases of iCAAFS, clarifies that all educational materials remain under CC BY-SA, and then sets out in clear language what is included for individual CoLab members, for CoLab as an organisation, and for case study participants, along with conditions for “grandmothered” badges, reciprocity expectations, verification requirements, membership maintenance, and grounds for suspension or removal, with a review point set for December 2027.
